Tell me about your latest book and why we should read it?
My latest book is out August 1st and it is the second part of the the highly emotional two book ending to The Cocktail Series. I have literally sobbed my way through writing and editing it, so you should all read it so you can have a good ugly cry too.
If someone was to write your life story what would the title be?
Life Through A Wine Glass
What’s the strangest fan question or request you’ve received?
A mentor of mine who used to do some structural editing for me on my fantasy books, worked on one of my steamy romances. He was a little out of his depth with all the sex scenes in the book and suggested some needed to be taken out. He sent me a note saying something on the lines of, “…can’t they connect another way like, I dunno, while cleaning out the garage or doing some decorating.” After laughing about it, just for him, I replaced one of the sexy scenes with a decorating the bathroom scene as a joke. It subsequently ended up staying in the book!
If you could co-write with anyone in the world (alive or dead) who would it be?
J.R Ward so we could talk about sexy vamps and I could get the lowdown on Vishous.
Tell me something nobody else knows about you (yet!).
I once had beer thrown over me when a fight broke out next to me at an ice hockey match,it was all good though, my team went on to win.
Finally please recommend 3 books that you have recently read and tell me why you’ve chosen these.
J.A Huss, 3 2 1, because I just love her sexy dark novels and this is probably her darkest and sexiest to date.
Eowyn Ivey, Snow Child, because I love to reread it intermittently (it’s my go to comfort book that gives me all the feels) and because I was doing research for a work in progress
Electra Shepherd, Man or Machine, because – um, well in truth, I was curious… what can I say! Part of me felt squeamish about reading an erotic robot book and the other part was thinking, I wanna know how she makes this work. But boy did she make it work!
Who is Angela Stevens?
Angela is British born but moved to the United States a decade ago. Always a keen traveler, she has enjoyed spending time living outside of her native country. She is an ex-teacher and the mother of two children. When empty nest syndrome threatened, Angela turned to writing novels to fill her growing free time. As her hobby grew she found storytelling began to fill her waking hours.
Her debut novel, Lemon Drops and Love grew out of her voracious appetite for reading. After one particularly momentous year, where she consumed over one hundred paper backs, Angela Stevens decided to attempt her own. The story is set in her local town and the setting for her love story was partly inspired by her passion for ice hockey. “I discovered ice hockey when I first moved to America. We went first to see an Anaheim Ducks game when I was visiting L.A. We all loved it so much when we came home we went to watch our local team. Now I’m a rabid Washington Capitals fan, and can often be found ‘rocking the red’ at the Verizon center supporting the Washington Capitals.”
In Angela’s stories, you will always find a hero to fall in love with and a heroine who will be worthy of his love. Her characters are three dimensional and down to earth. She writes with a strong voice and in a gritty style weaving tension and suspense throughout her narrative. Her characters come to life and whisk you away, whether into a romantic or fantasy setting. Which ever you chose, be prepared to laugh out loud, cry and fall in love.
