‘Pair Bonding’ is now due to be released 27 March 2020.
Tell me about your latest book and why we should read it?
Pair Bonding is set in an alternative universe based on Greek Mythology where soulmates are an undeniable reality. We look at how personal relationships and society and a whole are shaped by this. It’s all one giant metaphor for the queer experience and if you’ve ever felt that you didn’t really fit the standard relationship model, or ever questioned the heteronormative narrative then this book might just be for you.
If someone was to write your life story what would the title be?
Looking to the Stars and Eating Nachos
What’s the strangest fan question or request you’ve received?
I have a friend that insists on me writing the word “penguin” into everything I write. So far, she has yet to succeed.
Tell me something nobody else knows about you (yet!)
I listen to music on my ipod so no one knows just how long I’ve listened to the same song on repeat
Finally, please recommend 3 books that you have recently read and tell me why you’ve chosen these
1. ‘Record of a Spaceborn Few’ by Becky Chambers – I simply love Becky Chambers as her novels essentially boil down to ‘found family in space’ which is very much my jam.
2. ‘And Still I Rise’ by Maya Angelou. It’s a classic poetry collection for a reason and I can’t help but go back to it sometimes.
3. ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ by Casey McQuiston because I love YA and sometimes you just need to curl up with something that you know is going to have a happy ending.
