A Quickie with Rowan Coleman

Tell me about your latest book and why we should read it?

The Summer of Impossible Things is the story of Luna, a woman who discovers she has an Impossible chance to alter the past and save her mother’s life, even though it will cost her her own. If you like courageous heroines, 70s Brooklyn, epic love stories, and twisty time travel tales it’s for you.

If someone was to write your life story what would the title be?

I Was Going to, But I Forgot.

What’s the strangest fan question or request you’ve received?

At an event an older gentleman asked me to have a photo with him, taken by his wife. Not that odd, but then he said ‘now I’ve got photos of the two most important women in my life!’ (Awkward)

If you could co-write with anyone in the world (alive or dead) who would it be?

This is hard, because I really want all The Bronte Sisters, but actually I’m choosing a living author. I’d love to co-write something with my hero Marian Keyes. Blimey, that’d be amazing!

Tell me something nobody else knows about you (yet!).

I’m an over sharer so this is hard…. um….I have seen two ghosts with my very own eyes. And possibly heard two more.

Finally please recommend 3 books that you have recently read and tell me why you’ve chosen these.

The Fact of a Body – Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich – amazing True Crime Non Fiction and also a memoir, a very thoughtful and devastatingly emotional account of murder and surviving abuse.

Anatomy of a Scandal – Sarah Vaughan – taut and thrilling courtroom drama that will keep you guessing until the end.

The Break – Marian Keyes.  This woman never lets me down, and this is peak Marian. Heartbreak, humour, pathos and courage. It’s the kind of novel that makes you want to cheer out loud!
