A Quickie with KA Richardson

Tell me about your latest book and why we should read it?

The latest book in the north east series is Watch You Burn – it features fire investigator Edina Blaze and crime scene manager Kevin Lang – someone is using arson to kill people. It’s their job to find out who and why. Edina’s sister, Heather becomes embroiled in the investigation – is she a suspect though? Or a victim?

I’m also working on book 5 in the north east police series, Under The Woods, which will hopefully be due for release early 2018. I’m loving writing it – TJ Tulley has some challenges due to an assault and now runs a disabled riding school. Someone though, is using her land to hide his ‘angels’ and brings the trouble to her door – literally.

If someone was to write your life story what would the title be?

Truths, lies and butterflies.

What’s the strangest fan question or request you’ve received?

I was at a signing once when a girl came over to chat – she had no money to buy a book but asked me to sign her stomach in permanent marker – strangest signing request yet!

If you could co-write with anyone in the world (alive or dead) who would it be?

Oooo good question – I’d love to write with Karen Rose – maybe an American English overlap!

Tell me something nobody else knows about you (yet!).

I *may* have a school girl crush on David Hasselhoff (that *may* have lasted since Knightrider).

Finally please recommend 3 books that you have recently read and tell me why you’ve chosen these.

Holding Myself by Victoria J Brown – great story about trials and tribulations in a real life setting – it focusses on a girl called Kat, and her relationship initially but develops into so much more. It’s a great summer read.

Eric by Irish Winters – Winters is an American author who writes romantic suspense – this is the fifteenth in the company of snipers series – she focusses her books around an elite team of men and women who’ve all served in the armed forces and take private contracts as body guards or whatever else is asked of them by the boss, Alex (incidentally book 1 in the series has this title) – they’re well written with great characters you can relate to.

Monster in the Closet by Karen Rose – the latest release by Karen had me on the edge of my seat. I had lumps in my throat, giggles escaping my lips and my mouth dropped into an ‘o’ on several occasions. Can’t wait for the next one.

Who is KA Richardson: My name is KA Richardson, and I am a crime writer based in the North East of England. I write around my other work commitments so am constantly on the go. I love reading many genres, love speaking to people and spend a lot of time people watching in coffee shops, though if I’m honest this is more for the purposes of character building and plotting. I enjoy watching ‘cop’ shows from both the UK and the USA, and am a fan of sci-fi. I began thinking about writing as a career in 2010 and completed my Ma Creative Writing in 2011. I love to be inspired, and enjoy spending time with friends and family, as well as other like minded folk. My website has some more info on me, if you’re interested pop on over to www.kerryannrichardson.com, or I can be found on facebook as KA Richardson.
