Behind the Blogger – Jessica Johnson from Jessica’s Reading Room

Tell me about the person behind the blog?

I am from Georgia, a mommy to twin rescue cats Sage and Curry, and will be married for four years in March.

When did you start blogging and why?
I began my site July 2016. In February 2016 I became an admin to the Bookies facebook page and on there I started doing weekly reviews. It just grew from there and I decided I wanted to start my own blog. I am still learning but I am having so much fun doing it!

What are your proudest moments or achievements todate as a blogger?

An interview with my favorite author Heather Gudenkauf. I took a chance and my blog was only two weeks old at the time. I really did not expect a yes, but she did! It was a real fangirl moment when I read that e-mail. My husband had to calm me down. Being able to interview her made my site worth it. How often do you get to talk to your favorite author? The interview with her is here: http://jessicasreadingroom.com/a-conversation-with-heather-gudenkauf/

If you had to breakdown the components of your ideal perfect book what would they be?

Wow, I will go with suspense/thriller for this. A mystery that pulls you in, with a protagonist you come to care about (maybe not in the beginning, but they can grown on you) with unexpected twists, and most of all: NOT figuring the book out. I love to have my mind blown by a book, and if I figure out the twist it is not a good for me.

What is your favourite genre to read?

I suppose it would be a three way tie: suspense/thrillers, chick-lit, and post apocalyptic books

Finally, tell me more about your blog and why we should subscribe

People always ask me for recommendations, so this is a way to get my thoughts on books. I have done reviews, various author interviews, blog tours, and I have joined my sister-in-law in a weekly feature called First Line Friday.

I started my blog for me first, and I am having fun with it. Everyone has different interests and opinions on books, check my site out and see what I like. Come on and join the fun. Please don’t make me beg!
