A Quickie with Lynda La Plante #Blogtour

Tell me about your latest book and why we should read it?

If you enjoyed Prime Suspect and want to see where DCI Jane Tennison, who was so brilliantly played by Helen Mirren came from,  I think you might like Good Friday and the TENNISON series of books.  Good Friday is set in 1976, when the IRA carried out a bombing campaign in the UK.  Jane is caught up in the aftermath of a bomb explosion.  Did she see the bomber, can she identify them and will she be in time to stop the next attack?  I was on the edge of my seat writing it, I hope the reader will be too!

If someone was to write your life story what would the title be?

I am really not sure, but I think there might have to be three volumes!

What’s the strangest fan question or request you’ve received?

I am always being asked if I was in Rentaghost – Also what colour dye I use on my hair.

If you could co-write with anyone in the world (alive or dead) who would it be?

It would have to be Raymond Chandler.  I can read his books over and over again. Sadly I never managed to meet him.

Tell me something nobody else knows about you (yet!).

I am obsessive about polishing shoes, I always have been.  I have pairs of boots that are over 20 years old, because I have looked after them.

Finally please recommend 3 books that you have recently read

Ripper – Patricia Cornwell

The Late Show – Michael Connelly

Sweet Little Lies – Caz Frear
