Monthly Round-Ups

Monthly Round Up – June 2018

Welcome to my monthly round up where I have a quick look at all the books I’ve read this month and hopefully help you to choose your next book to read.

I was actually shocked to see how many books I’ve managed to read this month, however I have taken full advantage of working from home this month and sitting in the garden reading whilst pretending to work!  Here’s the 12 books I’ve read with a link to my full review and to buy the book.

  1. The Murder of Harriet Monckton – A historical fiction book by my favourite psychological thriller author, Elizabeth Haynes – which kept me riveted and definitely goes into my TOP TEN books of 2018.  Click here for my full review.
  2. Natural Causes – James Oswald – The first book in his supernatural crime series featuring Tony McLean and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Read my full review here.
  3. Watching You – Lisa Jewell – Another page turner full of interesting characters and a clever plot line – Here’s my full review.
  4. Random – Craig Robertson – Book 1 in the Narey & Winter series and I bought this based on a 1 star review because it was too violent – Read my thoughts here
  5. Block 46 – Johana Gustawsson – My first foray into French Noir and thoroughly recommend it – but it’s pretty gruesome and very disturbing.  Read my full review here
  6. Keeper – Johana Gustawsson – This is the second book in the series so I started it immediately – Read my full review here
  7. This is Going to Hurt – Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor – Adam Kay – Featured on Zoe Ball’s Book Club on ITV I had to read it following all the amazing comments – Read my thoughts here
  8. The Stories She Tell – LK Chapman – A gripping psychological thriller I read in an afternoon – Read my full review here
  9. The Collector – Fiona Cummins – The sequel to Rattle – equally creepy and disturbing – read my full review here
  10. The Body of Souls – James Oswald – The second book in the Tony McLean series and another creepy but fabulous book.  Read my full review here.
  11. The Perfect Friend – Barbara Copperthwaite – Review to follow in July as part of the #blogtour
