Monthly Round-Ups

My Monthly Round Up – May 2017

May has arrived, bringing warmer weather, 2 bank holidays and lots of excellent new book releases.  I have developed a severe case of trigger happy fingers on Amazon and been downloading more books than I can possibly read.. but as that famous saying goes “You can never have too many books!”  I also keep getting my requests approved on Netgalley which means that if I read continuously for the next 117 years 24 hours a day I should catch up with my TBR pile and even better news if you are an Amazon Prime Member – they have now introduced Prime Reader – with a choice of over 1000 books to download and read for FREE!  Click here for link

Due to excellent TV this month (Billions, The Good Fight, 24 The Legacy to name a few) my reading has slipped a little so instead of just letting you know what I have read and loved I thought I would share with you the books I’ve also bought on Amazon and downloaded via Netgalley … just please don’t tell my hubby!

For the record, I don’t normally buy/download so many books in a month (at least I don’t think I do!) and I will put this down to a momentary moment of “clickitus” which lasted approximately 31 days.

Books I’ve Read in May:

  1.  The One in a Million Boy – Monica Wood – This was chosen for THE Book Club’s Book of the Month for an online discussion – a moving and emotional read – Read my full review here
  2. Exquisite – Sarah Stovell – Utterly brilliant psychological thriller which deserves to be HUGE in 2017 – Read my full review here
  3. See You in September – Charity Norman – Yet another outstanding story which is both thought-provoking and original.  Read my full review here
