Remember – Shervin Jamali (Reviewed by Helen Boyce)

Once again my trusted bookmate Helen Boyce has read and reviewed a book which she thinks YOU should read as she LOVED it so much – so any fans of Romance may want to read her full review here.

About the book: As Daniel watches the life ebb from Grace’s body, he wishes they had more time, knew each other when they were young. His wife surprises him by insisting they did. And then she’s gone.

He knows this can’t be true. Can it? They only met later in life, so why would Grace’s departing words hint at a shared youth? Haunted by this notion, Daniel journeys into the past to discover the truth.

‘Remember’ is a unique love story. Find out how it really began…

About the author: I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until recently that it just seemed to click. I’ve had stories locked away, but suddenly, and unexpectedly, they now need to get out. I completed the first draft of “The Devil’s Lieutenant” in just two months, and that was as a result of writing when I had the opportunity to do so. My 8-5 job and family still came first. I look forward to the day when I can be a full time writer who can take my children to school, pick them up and chauffeur them to various activities, with a healthy dose of writing in between.

Helen’s Review:  Unique, emotive and thought provoking – Daniel searches for answers after losing the love of his life.

I was blown away by just how much of a story this Author packed into such a short read, the writing is beautiful, sensitive and compelling and the characters are wonderfully human with a fabulous mix of good and bad. Although essentially a love story it’s far removed from a sloppy romance, there’s addiction, violence, humour, heartbreaking loss as well as enduring love. The theme reminded me a little of Mitch Albolm’s 5 People with a touch of Ground Hog Day, but this is far grittier, hit me harder and dare I say it’s even better?

This one is hard to review without spoilers but urge you to pick this one up and read it for yourselves – it’s truly outstanding! 5 Massive stars
