I am Death – Chris Carter (Robert Hunter #7)

About the Book: Seven days after being abducted, the body of a twenty-year-old woman is found on a green patch of grass by the Los Angeles International Airport. She has been left with her limbs stretched out and spread apart, placing her in a five-point human star.

The autopsy reveals that she had been murdered in a most terrible way. But the surprises don’t end there.
Detective Robert Hunter, who leads LAPD’s Special Section, Ultra Violent Unit, is assigned the case. But almost immediately a second body turns up. Hunter knows he has to be quick.

Surrounded by new challenges as every day passes, Detective Hunter finds himself chasing a monster. A predator whose past hides a terrible secret, whose desire to hurt people and thirst for murder can never be quenched – for he is DEATH.

My Review:  This is the 7th book in the Robert Hunter series and whilst it can be read as a standalone, in my opinion, why would you when there are 6 brilliant books to devour before you get to this one?

There isn’t much I can add to this review except each book gets better than the previous and each serial killer gets sicker and more gruesome.  I read most of this book with my face scrunched up in disgust at the horrific and twisted murders and believe me it takes a LOT to make me cringe.

So if you like fast paced, gripping and really disgusting serial killer thrillers, have a strong stomach and don’t mind gore – you should 100% read this incredible series.

About the author: Chris Carter was born in Brasilia, Brazil where he spent my childhood and teenage years. After graduating from high school, he moved to the USA where he studied psychology with specialization in criminal behaviour. During his University years he held a variety of odd jobs, ranging from flipping burgers to being part of an all male exotic dancing group.

He worked as a criminal psychologist for several years before moving to Los Angeles, where he swapped the suits and briefcases for ripped jeans, bandanas and an electric guitar. After a spell playing for several well known glam rock bands, he decided to try my luck in London, where he was fortunate enough to have played for a number of famous artists.  He toured the world several times as a professional musician.  A few years ago he gave it all up to become a full time writer
