They strike up a friendship at the bakery where Sage works. One day he asks Sage for a favor: to kill him. Shocked, Sage refuses…and then he confesses his darkest secret – he deserves to die, because he was a Nazi SS guard. Complicating the matter? Sage’s grandmother is a Holocaust survivor.
My Review: Whilst the historical parts were beautifully written and moving and the characters were all fascinating and each individual story was great, this book lacked the wow factor for me which is why it didn’t get a 5 star rating. But an easy 4.5 stars instead!
