Late October. After midnight. You’re waiting up for your son. He’s late.
As you watch from the window, he emerges, and you realise he isn’t alone: he’s walking towards a man, and he’s armed.
You can’t believe it when you see him do it: your funny, happy teenage son, he kills a stranger, right there on the street outside your house.
You don’t know who. You don’t know why.
You only know your son is now in custody. His future lost.
That night you fall asleep in despair. All is lost. Until you wake . . .
. . . and it is yesterday.
And then you wake again . . .
. . . and it is the day before yesterday.
Every morning you wake up a day earlier, another day before the murder. Somewhere in the past lies an answer.
The trigger for this crime – and your only chance to fix the future and save your son . . .

My Review:
MY HEAD HURTS! If you like books that make you think hard and use parts of your brain normally left for solving complex riddles, then you need to download Wrong Place Wrong Time the minute it is published on 12 May 2022.
I have just finished this book and feel like my head has been on a fast spin dry because WOW this is one very clever, very original headf*ck.
As a huge fan of Gillian’s previous books, I knew that I was in for a clever, thought-provoking and genius ride, but I really need to congratulate her on what I can only imagine to be a very complex and complicated writing experience because as a reader I was utterly gripped.
Wrong Place Wrong Time is Gillian’s latest standalone crime thriller, but this one has a real stand-out difference to the others. This one features time-travel! As I’m not a huge fan of time travel books and tend to steer away from fantasy/sci-fi, I would never have picked this up if it had been written by anyone else, but because all of Gillian’s books have that clever moral dilemma that I find fascinating I knew I had to read it.
Can you imagine waiting up for your teenage son to come home from a night out, watching him from your window and see him murder a man in cold blood and taken away by the police? That is what happens to Jen, devoted mother, hard-working divorce lawyer and loving wife of Kelly.
The following morning Jen wakes up to find herself a day earlier and starts to spot signs that the “universe” is giving her the chance to stop the murder and save her son. Over the course of the book Jen travels back weeks, months, years and even decades through her life trying to piece together the clues that lead to her son’s crime.
I’m confused just writing this review and my head is literally still spinning. Clever, addictive, so well plotted, moving in parts and shocking in others. I totally recommend it.
