My Review: As a huge fan of psychological twisty thrillers, I was really excited to read Perfect Liars by Rebecca Reid as the blurb above really appealed to my inner dark side and I was NOT disappointed.
This is one of those books that instantly hooks you from the opening chapter and actually doesn’t let you go until the end. Three women (all pretty shallow, unlikable and at times behave completely diabolically) have been “friends”, and I use that term very loosely, since childhood and now in their thirties have reunited at a crisis dinner because something is threatening to bring up their past.
I love books that have alternating characters tell a story and especially when we are taken back to the girls school days at Boarding School. The author skilfully weaves a tale, taking the reader on a journey and allowing us to slowly discover the secret the girls are trying to hide and what has happened to make them the women they are today.
If you enjoy your books with unreliable and unlikable characters, a murder, lots of twists and turns, then I would definitely recommend PERFECT LIARS.
About the Author: Rebecca is a freelance journalist. She is a columnist for the Telegraph Women’s section, works for Metro Online and has written for Marie Claire, the Guardian, the Saturday Telegraph, the Independent, Stylist, Glamour, the iPaper, the Guardian, Indy100, LOOK and the New Statesmen amongst others. She graduated from Royal Holloway’s Creative Writing MA in 2015 and Perfect Liars is her debut novel.
