Michael Tate has not had an easy life. With his father in prison, and his mother dead, Michael was sent to Woodside Children’s Home.
Now an adult, Michael wakes up from a coma in hospital suffering from amnesia and paralysis. Confused and terrified, he is charged with the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend, Becky. He also learns he attempted to end his own life.

My Review: This book was highly recommended by several members of my online book club so I started it without even reading the blurb (I know I’m such a rebel!). It kicks off with a killer opening chapter when we meet Michael (Mike) Tate who has woken up in a hospital bed, paralysed from the waist down and accused of murdering his girlfriend and unable to remember anything.
So far so gripping! Then we take a slightly unconventional direction from the standard crime thrillers and the book then straddles another genre which if you can suspend your belief and just go with the flow tells us the disturbing and tragic story behind Mikey.
This book covers some awful subjects including child abuse, violence, bullying, police brutality and murder but throughout the book Mark Tilbury manages to keep the reader interested and engaged with the characters without sensationalising events. It’s not a particularly easy read due to the subject matter but I was gripped throughout
About The Author: Mark lives in a small village in the lovely county of Cumbria, although his books are set in Oxfordshire where he was born and raised.
After serving in the Royal Navy and raising his two daughters after being widowed, Mark finally took the plunge and self-published two books on Amazon, The Revelation Room and The Eyes of the Accused.
