My Thoughts:
The Summer Dare by Joanna Dodd is a standalone thriller published in July 2024.
This is the story of Lucy, now a happily married mother who seems to have it all. Loving and attentive husband, a strong and close friendship circle of women she’s known since her school days and a job as a ghost writer.
However, 25 years ago life was very different. Lucy was the girl on the outside, the girl no-one wanted to talk to and be with, the girl with no friends until Maddie, the coolest girl at school, decides to befriend Lucy and bring her into her tight group of friends for one brief summer and something happens that changes all their lives irrevocably.
Now Lucy is getting anonymous texts and messages reminding her of that summer 25 years ago, someone knows more than they should and the feelings of guilt and fear are all Lucy can focus on. Is her life about to be destroyed because of a childish dare?
Well obviously I’m not going to tell you that.. so grab yourself a copy and settle down with a highly enjoyable thriller.
