A Quickie with Graham Smith

Tell me about your latest book and why we should read it?

My latest book is called Watching the Bodies and features Utah bouncer, Jake Boulder, who is on the trail of a seriously twisted serial killer. You should read it because I poured my heart and soul into writing it and more importantly, I need the royalty money to fund my obsession with odd socks.

If someone was to write your life story what would the title be?

The title would be “Less Hair and More Waist”.

What’s the strangest fan question or request you’ve received?

The strangest thing a fan has asked me is “If someone was to write your life story, what would the title be?”

If you could co-write with anyone in the world (alive or dead) who would it be?

I’d co-write with Dan Brown to hopefully stop him butchering great stories with bad writing. The fact there may be gargantuan royalties has nothing to do with my choice.

Tell me something nobody else knows about you (yet!).

I have the plots in my head for the next three Jake Boulder novels, one Harry Evans novels and a standalone.

Finally please recommend 3 books that you have recently read and tell me why you’ve chosen these.

The three books I’d recommend everyone read are Marked for Death by Matt Hilton because it’s a fantastic rollercoaster of a read, A Suitable Lie by Michael J. Malone as it’s a beautifully told story that will act as a wake-up call to anyone who is in the wrong kind of relationship and finally I’d recommend Summoning the Dead by Tony Black as there are few writers who share Black’s skill for perfectly encapsulating a scene or emotion in very few words.
