Hunting Evil – Chris Carter (Robert Hunter #10)

HELL YEAH” were my exact words when Anne Cater of Random Things Tours asked if I would be interested in being on the #blogtour for Chris Carters latest book HUNTING EVIL – featuring one of my FAVOURITE characters Robert Hunter, so a huge thanks to Anne and the publishers for my copy of the book.

‘Every story one day comes to an end.’
As roommates, they met for the first time in college. Two of the brightest minds ever to graduate from Stamford Psychology University.
As adversaries, they met again in Quantico, Virginia. Robert Hunter had become the head of the LAPD’s Ultra Violent Crimes Unit. Lucien Folter had become the most prolific and dangerous serial killer the FBI had ever encountered.

Now, after spending three and a half years locked in solitary confinement, Lucien has finally managed to break free. And he’s angry.

For the past three and a half years, Lucien has thought of nothing else but vengeance.
The person responsible for locking him away has to pay, he has to suffer.
That person … is Robert Hunter.
And now it is finally time to execute the plan.

My Review: Hunting Evil is the 10th book in the brilliant Robert Hunter series and for those of you who follow my blog, will know I adore Chris Carter and have devoured (if that’s the right word) all 9 of his previous books since I first read The Crucifix Killer in July 2016.  If you like gory, gruesome and twisted killer thrillers and haven’t read any of this series then STOP reading my review and download book 1 NOW.

All ten books can be read as standalone, but in my opinion, to get a better understanding of who Robert Hunter is, what makes him tick and his relationship with Carlos Garcia, his partner, and his work colleagues you should start at book 1.

Hunting Evil (Book 10) is different to the previous 9 because it features a character from Book 6 (An Evil Mind) and is almost a follow up from what happened after book 6 ended.

Without wanting to give anything away, Hunting Evil brings back Lucien Folter – one of the most dangerous and elusive serial killers EVER!  Lucien has escaped a maximum security prison three and a half years after Hunter captured him and now he is out, seeking revenge and this time it’s PERSONAL.

Once again Chris Carter has managed to keep the tension and the blood count high, providing fans of gruesome lots of violent and twisted murders. However this time Hunting Evil manages to get under Robert Hunter’s skin, showing his vulnerability which I particularly appreciated having followed his growth and career since book 1.

Another cracking story and one I highly recommend.

About the author: Chris Carter was born in Brasilia, Brazil where he spent my childhood and teenage years. After graduating from high school, he moved to the USA where he studied psychology with specialization in criminal behaviour. During his University years he held a variety of odd jobs, ranging from flipping burgers to being part of an all male exotic dancing group.

He worked as a criminal psychologist for several years before moving to Los Angeles, where he swapped the suits and briefcases for ripped jeans, bandanas and an electric guitar. After a spell playing for several well known glam rock bands, he decided to try my luck in London, where he was fortunate enough to have played for a number of famous artists.  He toured the world several times as a professional musician.  A few years ago he gave it all up to become a full time writer
